ICONSIAM at a glance

ICONSIAM is a riverside mixed-use development on the Chao Phraya in Khlong San, on the Thonburi side of the river opposite the old CBD. It opened to the public on 9 November 2018 after roughly five years of construction, as a joint venture between Thai retail developer Siam Piwat, Magnolia Quality Development Corporation and Charoen Pokphand Group.

The retail podium spans about 525,000 sqm and anchors two residential towers — the 70-floor Magnolia Waterfront Residences and the 52-floor Residences at Mandarin Oriental — plus a Millennium Hilton hotel in the adjoining ICS building, which opened in December 2020.

Its best-known feature is SookSiam, an indoor recreation of a Thai floating market bringing food and crafts from all of Thailand's regions under one roof, alongside a riverside park, a 3,000-seat exhibition hall and the ICONSIAM Heritage Museum (River Museum Bangkok), run jointly with Thailand's Fine Arts Department.
