International Baccalaureate — full continuum (PYP, MYP, DP & IBCP) · Mae Rim, on the northern outskirts of Chiang Mai city
Prem Tinsulanonda International School (PTIS) opened in August 2001 on a large, green campus in Mae Rim, on the northern outskirts of Chiang Mai, named for and supported by former Thai Prime Minister General Prem Tinsulanonda. PTIS is authorised by the International Baccalaureate Organisation to teach all four IB programmes — the Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme, Diploma Programme and the Career-related Programme (IBCP) — making it the first school in Southeast Asia, and the only one in Thailand, to offer the complete IB continuum. It runs both day and boarding places, with boarding available from the middle and senior years, and is known for strong outdoor-education, arts and sports programmes across its spacious campus.
