Public university · founded 1992 · Mueang Chiang Rai
Chiang Rai Rajabhat University (CRRU) was established in 1992 as Chiang Rai University, and was renamed to its current name in 2004 when it was elevated to full Rajabhat University status as part of Thailand's nationwide Rajabhat University system. The campus sits at 80 Moo 9, Phaholyothin Road, Tambon Ban Du, Mueang Chiang Rai District, on a site of more than 940 rai.
CRRU is organised into faculties including education, science and technology, humanities and social sciences, and management science, with a mission centred on producing graduates for the region -- a public university option for students who want to study in Chiang Rai without the more research-intensive, internationally oriented profile of nearby Mae Fah Luang University.
