Queen Savang Vadhana Memorial Hospital traces its history to 1902, when Queen Savang Vadhana, recovering from illness near Bang Phra, ordered a small hospital built for local residents -- one of the first hospitals in Thailand, and the first in the Eastern Region, to practise Western medicine. Hospital management passed to the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University in 1918 and later to the Thai Red Cross Society, which renamed the hospital in the Queen's honour in 1997. Today it is a large 828-bed (2023) regional hospital in Si Racha, serving locals, expats and tourists across the Laem Chabang and Pattaya-adjacent area as one of Chonburi province's biggest hospitals by bed count -- distinct from the smaller private Samitivej and public Chonburi Hospital options. BAANLYY is not affiliated with Queen Savang Vadhana Memorial Hospital and takes no paid placement in this guide; confirm all figures directly with the hospital or the Thai Red Cross Society.
As a Thai Red Cross hospital, Queen Savang Vadhana Memorial Hospital is oriented primarily toward the general Thai and regional population rather than a dedicated international department, with more limited English-language support than the area's private Samitivej hospitals -- expect a public-benefit hospital experience and confirm current services directly with the hospital.
The hospital sits on Jermjompol Road in Si Racha, within reach of Laem Chabang, Sriracha town centre and the northern Pattaya area. Chonburi has no BTS, MRT or urban rail; most patients arrive by car, motorbike taxi or ride-hailing app.
It is operated by the Thai Red Cross Society, a public-benefit humanitarian organisation -- not a private for-profit hospital, and not a standard Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) government hospital either; pricing and access generally sit between the two.
It traces back to 1902, when Queen Savang Vadhana ordered a small hospital built near Sriracha -- one of the first hospitals in Thailand, and the first in the Eastern Region, to practise Western medicine. It was renamed in her honour in 1997.
828 beds as of 2023, making it one of the largest hospitals in Chonburi province.
Hospital facts are drawn from the Thai Red Cross Society's own official pages plus independent cross-checks. BAANLYY is a data-and-tools platform, not a hospital, insurer or booking agent; never takes paid placement in this content, and does not guarantee prices, wait times or accreditation status — always confirm directly with the hospital before relying on any figure here.
