Private university · founded 1996 · Hat Yai
Hatyai University traces its founding to 1996, when it was established as Hatyai City College -- the first private university in southern Thailand. Its official foundation ceremony was held on 20 February 1999, presided over by former Prime Minister Chuan Leekpai, and the institution was upgraded to full Hatyai University status in 2003.
The university offers undergraduate and graduate programs across seven faculties -- business administration, law, education and liberal arts, science and technology, political science, communication arts, and the Didyasarin International College -- serving students who want a private university option without leaving southern Thailand.
