Overview

Koh Samui Immigration at a glance

The Koh Samui Immigration Office, a branch of the Surat Thani Immigration Office, moved in 2016 from Na Thon to a larger, purpose-built building on Maenam Road -- the island's sole full-service immigration facility. It handles the full range of immigration business for Koh Samui residents, and also serves as the practical option for Koh Phangan and Koh Tao residents needing services beyond what Koh Phangan's smaller sub-office can process.

The Maenam building is air-conditioned and noticeably larger than the old Na Thon office, with on-site photocopying and photo services and nearby visa-agent and lawyer offices for anyone who needs help preparing paperwork. As with any Thai government office, procedures and required documents are periodically updated and the office observes a midday lunch closure, so confirm current requirements and plan around the break before an important visit.
