Panyapiwat Institute of Management is Thailand's first corporate university, founded and owned by CP All Public Company Limited -- the operator of 7-Eleven Thailand and part of the CP Group conglomerate. Licensed by Thailand's Ministry of Education as a private higher-education provider on 9 March 2007 (originally as Panyapiwat Institute of Technology) and commencing operations that June, PIM sits on Chaeng Watthana Road in Pak Kret District, Nonthaburi, a short distance from Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University.
PIM was built around a 'work-integrated learning' model that places students in real CP Group and partner-company workplaces alongside their studies, originally to supply job-ready staff for CP All's retail and logistics network and now extended to outside students as well. The institute now offers 37 undergraduate majors across 11 faculties and one college -- spanning business administration, logistics and transportation management, aviation management, finance and banking, and agricultural innovation -- plus master's programs since 2007 and doctoral programs since October 2012.
