Private university · founded 2006 · Nakhon In Road, Bang Khanoon, Bang Kruai District, Nonthaburi
Rajapruk University began life in 2006 as Ratchaphruek College, a privately funded institution on Nakhon In Road in Bang Khanoon, Bang Kruai District, Nonthaburi, on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River. Thailand's Ministry of Education authorized its upgrade from college to full university status in 2014, at which point it took its current name, Rajapruk University (commonly abbreviated RPU).
The university offers bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs across roughly six faculties -- Business Administration, Accounting, Law, Communication Arts, Science & Public Health, and Arts -- serving a student body of a few thousand drawn largely from the western Bangkok-Nonthaburi metro area. As with most smaller private Thai universities, it positions itself as a career-oriented, locally accessible alternative to the larger public universities across the river in central Bangkok.
