Central Plaza Rayong -- almost universally known as Central Rayong -- sits on Bangna-Trat Road no. 36, on the motorway toward Ban Phe near the Koh Kloy intersection, in Mueang Rayong District. Developed by Central Pattana (CPN) as the company's 26th shopping mall, at an investment of over THB 3.2 billion across a 60-rai site with roughly 200,000 square metres of gross floor area, it opened in May 2015 and is the biggest and most modern shopping mall in the province, per CPN's own official site. The architecture and landscaping draw on local arts, culture and the literature of Phra Sunthorn Phu, Thailand's best-known royal poet, who was born in Rayong. The mall sits on Bangna-Trat Road no. 36, on the motorway toward Ban Phe near the Koh Kloy intersection in Mueang Rayong District -- most residents drive, taxi or use a ride-hailing app, since it sits on the main highway corridor rather than within the older city centre where Passione Shopping Destination is located.
