Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya's Trang Campus began as the Trang Department of Fisheries and Science, and became part of RMUTSV when the Rajamangala University of Technology Act formally established the wider RMUTSV system on 18 January 2005. The campus sits in Mai Fad Subdistrict, Sikao District, on Trang's coast rather than in Trang town itself.
The campus runs three academic units: the Faculty of Science and Fisheries Technology (reflecting its origin as a fisheries school), the College of Hospitality and Tourism, and the Faculty of Engineering and Technology -- a mix that matches Trang's coastal, tourism and light-industrial economy.
