Emporium at a glance

Emporium opened on 27 July 1997 on Sukhumvit Soi 24 beside Benchasiri Park, making it Bangkok's first purpose-built luxury lifestyle mall — combining upscale shopping, dining, entertainment and a supermarket in one complex, designed by J+H Boiffils (the same firm later designed Siam Paragon for the same developer).

It was the first Bangkok mall to connect directly to the BTS Skytrain when the network opened in 1999, via a footbridge to Phrom Phong station. It remains owned and operated by The Mall Group.

Emporium anchors 'the EM District' together with EmQuartier (opened 2015, directly across the road) and EmSphere (opened December 2023) — three linked malls under one operator forming the prime expat shopping cluster at Phrom Phong.
