Overview

Nong Thale is the rural hinterland of Mueang Krabi — a patchwork of rice fields, lotus lakes and small villages framed by some of the province's most striking limestone mountains, set inland between Ao Nang, Klong Muang and the airport. It has become a favourite for villa living: land is cheaper than on the coast, plots are larger, and you can wake up to mountain-and-paddy views a short drive from the beach.

This is countryside living, not a town: amenities are basic and spread out, you will rely entirely on a car or scooter, and the nearest full services are in Ao Nang or Krabi Town. It suits families and remote workers who want a private pool home with space and quiet, are comfortable driving for errands, and value being roughly central to the airport, the beaches and town.
